About Arthur Covington

Arthur Covington

ART by Art Art Covington, a native of Tunica Mississippi inspired his first artistic explorations at the age of four when he discovered a natural ability to draw. His father encouraged his son’s artistic inclination by leaving a nickel on each successful drawing. The family soon left Tunica for Memphis in the early 70s. During his Jr. year at Carver High school Art was inspired to paint under the instruction of renowned artist George Hunt. After winning a scholarship in a church sponsored world wide fine arts competition, Art attended The Memphis Academy of Arts (now Memphis College of Arts). He has earned numerous awards including presentations from Nike Inc. and the March of Dimes. He’s been featured on FOX 13’s “Good...
