After a tiresome evening of performing, as he walks to unfold of what has consumed him, yet another melody drops in his spirit and he must return to his companion (the piano) and write as he plays what will become an extension of his very existence. For he is The Composer. Count Basie.

ART by Art Art Covington, a native of Tunica Mississippi inspired his first artistic explorations at the age of four when he discovered a natural ability to draw. His father encouraged his son’s artistic inclination by leaving a nickel on each successful drawing. The family soon left Tunica for Memphis in the early 70s. During his Jr. year at Carver High school Art was inspired to paint under the instruction of renowned artist George Hunt. After winning a scholarship in a church sponsored world wide fine arts competition, Art attended The Memphis Academy of Arts (now Memphis College of Arts).
